The St. Gerard Adult Choir is comprised of 40+ voices who love to sing and praise God together. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 pm in the church. The musical style is eclectic, combining composers of the great classical tradition such as Mozart and Tallis along with newer styles such as the music of John Rutter, Dan Forrest and Elaine Hagenburg.
Our Adult choir typically sings at the 11am mass on the first three Sundays of the month, with the fourth Sunday off. Additionally, the choir serves at the Christmas Midnight Mass and the Easter Vigil. Their role in the liturgy is to enrich the celebration of the mass by adding musical elements such as harmony and selected parts of the mass in dialogue with the congregation.
Reading music is not a pre-requisite to joining the St. Gerard Adult Choir. All are welcome!
