Baptism of Children 

Baptism is the gateway into the Church and the first of the three Sacraments of Initiation (along with Confirmation and the Eucharist). In baptism, we are "born of water and the Spirit," we are given the ability to "walk in the newness of life," and we fulfill the command of Christ to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

It is an ancient tradition for children to be baptized. If you would like to have your child baptized here at St. Gerard, you will need to:

• Contact Deacon Jim Corder ([email protected]) to set up a time to meet and fill out paperwork and select a date for baptism. 
• Sign up to attend your choice of workshop dates.
• Attend a baptism workshop

• Have at least one Godparent who is a practicing Catholic

      All Classes are held in the Parish Center in the Adult Education Rooms.  All             Baptism Workshops/Class start at 6:30 p.m.         
                    Tuesday, February 4, 2025, 6:30 p.m.   
                   Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 6:30 p.m.   
                   Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 6:30 p.m.                                                                                         Tuesday, August 4, 2025, 6:30 p.m.                                                                                                                                     

Baptism Schedule 2024-2025

Baptisms usually take place on the first and third Sunday of each month immediately after the 11:00 AM Mass. (about 12:15) On special feasts, e.g. Baptism of the Lord, baptisms may be scheduled at one of the weekend Masses.
